‘Stories Over Tea’ for London Festival of Architecture
Stories Over Tea is a storytelling exhibition by The Architecture Foundation / AF Young Trustees focusing on residents and workers within Waltham Forest from immigrant and diasporic backgrounds. Their work will be displayed at The Mill on Coppermill Lane this summer as part of London Festival of Architecture.
AF Young Trustees are seeking 10 residents or workers to share their journeys of migration for a storytelling exhibition celebrating local diversity. Selected stories will feature at The Mill on Saturday 28th June as part of the London Festival of Architecture 2025. Participants will be compensated for their time. If you want to get involved please email youngtrustees@archiceturefoundation.org.uk. With London Festival of Architecture having a global profile, this is a great opportunity to spotlight some of the amazing individuals who call Walthamstow their home or workplace, despite not being from the UK.
Even if you don’t intend on submitting a story save the 28th June date to visit the exhibition at The Mill, Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow, E17 7HA.
About London Festival of Architecture
The London Festival of Architecture (LFA) is a month-long celebration of architecture and city-making, taking place every June across London. Our mission is to act as a vehicle for change by making discussions around architecture more accessible, testing new ideas, and promoting emerging talent, all with the aim of creating a greener, healthier, and more equitable city. For everyone interested in shaping the future of London, the Festival unites industry professionals, students, and Londoners to collaboratively engage with and create positive change in our city’s unique neighbourhoods. LFA is run by NLA, London’s built environment community – a cross-sector membership organisation for everyone committed to shaping a better city. About The Architecture Foundation / AF Young Trustees
The Architecture Foundation leads the conversation on the development of London and contributes to a global discourse about the architect’s changing role and responsibilities. We pursue this mission through the delivery of an accessible public programme that makes space for emerging architects, groups historically underrepresented in the profession, and representatives of a wide range of related disciplines. Exploring the architect’s capacity to combat climate change and systemic social inequalities represent central concerns of the programme…. We host debates, make films, commission critical writing, curate exhibitions, publish books and engage industry figures with the aim of improving the quality of the discourse around London’s built environment. The Architecture Foundation Young Trustees (AFYT) actively seek out and support emerging and less-heard voices from within the architectural professions and more outwardly. Our network is here to support young practitioners through the sharing of perspectives, experiences, knowledge and ideas. (extracted from https://architecturefoundation.org.uk/)
